Marfeel captures first party data from your users as they visit your website and computes the following metrics as representations of the user’s loyalty and engagement with your content.
Metrics
The following metrics represent the total figures across your whole site. However, you can drill down into these metrics and get figures for specific segments of your traffic using Marfeel’s many Dimensions.
Average RFV
The average RFV of the users visiting a specific article or page on your site. RFV is an engagement score that is composed of Recency (when a user last visited), Frequency (how often a user visits), and Volume (how many pageviews the user generates when visiting).
It’s a score that varies from 0 to 100 created to measure the engagement level of a visitor and an article. The higher the score, the more engaged users are with your website. Read more about RFV here.
Cumulative RFV
The cumulative RFV of the users visiting a specific article or page on your site, calculated as a sum of the RFV of said users.
Total Reading Duration
The total amount of time users spent reading your content. Reading time only accrues while the content is on screen.
Avg. Reading Time per User
The average reading duration spent per user, calculated as \frac{Total Reading Duration}{Users}
Avg. Reading Time per Page
The average reading duration spent by your users on a specific page, calculated as \frac{Total Reading Duration}{Total Pageviews}
Total Engagement Time
Total time spent by users actively engaged on your site. Marfeel attributes up to 5 seconds of engagement to a user counting from the moment they take any action on the site, such as clicking on something or scrolling. Visit our documentation for a more detailed breakdown of Engagement Time.
Avg. Engagement Time per User
The average engagement time per user, calculated as \frac{Total Engagement Time}{Users}
Avg. Engagement Time per Page

Pageviews per User
The average number of pageviews by each user, calculated as \frac{Total Pageviews}{Users}
Average Scroll
The average depth of scroll of users on a part of your site of your choice. Can be broken down by any of the supported dimensions.
It measures how far down the page readers have gone on average. Scroll is calculated on a page basis. For example, if page 1 scroll is 30%, page 2 scroll is 10% and page 3 scroll is 60%, the total scroll is (30%+10%+60%)/3=33%.
Remember that you can adjust how Marfeel interprets the start and end of each page: by following the instructions in this article.
