Marfeel allows publishers to set up custom dimensions to enable more fine-grained tracking. These custom vars can be understood as specific attributes of a user in the context of a page hit, the span of a session, and their lifecycle as a user.
Dimensions
Page vars
Page vars allow you to track page-specific actions or information by setting a page variable. For example, you can track when a page uses a blue button instead of a green one. Compass can track a different value for each pageview. Visit our documentation for more information on Page vars.
Session vars
Session vars are pieces of information that stay unchanged for the whole duration of the user’s visit to your site. For example, you can put the user in a specific bucket for A/B testing, so they don’t constantly see changes throughout their session. Visit our documentation for more information on Session vars.
User vars
User vars leverage Compass’s user variables, to add information that is specific to each user. This information stays valid between user visits and allows you to segment your audience, for example into those that have or haven’t subscribed to push notifications. Visit out documentation for more information on User vars.
User Segments
A user segment refers to a specific group or category of users who share similar characteristics, behaviors, or preferences. User segments can be defined based on various criteria, such as demographics, browsing habits, or interaction with content. If you are tracking user segments via a DMP or CDP passing them to Marfeel will help analyze your content, advertising, and user experiences to better meet the needs and interests of these distinct user groups. Some examples of user segments could be:
- Gender: Male or Female
- Age range: 18-25, 26-35, 35-45, 45-60, 60+
Visit our documentation to learn more about User Segments.
