Track and filter content by bylines in Compass

Marfeel Compass now supports bylines as a distinct content attribute, giving publishers more flexibility in how they track and analyze content attribution.

Many publishers use bylines in ways that differ from author names. Some use bylines for syndicated content, guest contributors, or alternative attributions. Others need to track content under specific byline formats while maintaining separate author records. This new capability in Compass recognizes that distinction and provides dedicated tools for it.

Bylines now appear alongside authors and sections throughout Compass. They display in news cards, work with all existing filters, and can be used to group and analyze content performance. If an article has multiple bylines, Compass shows them the same way it handles multiple authors or sections.

The feature integrates seamlessly into existing workflows. No configuration or setup is required. Publishers already sending byline data through the Marfeel platform will see it reflected automatically in Compass views and reports.

This enhancement responds to publisher feedback about the need for more nuanced content attribution tracking, particularly for newsrooms managing syndicated content, contributor networks, or complex editorial structures.
