Control How Articles Are Selected from Multiple Feeds in Amplify

Amplify Recommender now lets you choose how articles are selected when using multiple content feeds. You can either use feeds in order (as before) or set up weighted distribution where each feed has a percentage chance of being selected. This gives you more control over content variety and helps balance article distribution across different sources.

Weighted Feed Distribution in Amplify: Fine-Tune Your Content Mix

Marfeel Amplify now gives publishers precise control over how articles are selected from multiple content feeds through a new weighted distribution system.

When using multiple feeds in the Recommender, you can now choose between two distribution approaches: sequential feed order or weighted random distribution. With weighted distribution, each feed receives a percentage-based probability of being selected, letting you balance content variety across different sources, topics, or ranking profiles.

How It Works

The Recommender settings now include a distribution mode selector. Choose “By feed order” to process feeds sequentially (the default behavior), or select “By feed weight” to enable probability-based selection.

In weighted mode, each feed displays its selection percentage and includes an interactive slider for quick adjustments. As you modify weights, percentages recalculate automatically across all feeds, giving you immediate visibility into your content distribution strategy.

Why This Matters

Publishers managing diverse content sources can now fine-tune their article mix without rigid ordering constraints. A news publisher might allocate 50% selection probability to breaking news, 30% to analysis pieces, and 20% to opinion content. A multi-brand publisher can ensure proportional representation across regional editions or topic verticals.

This approach maintains content freshness while respecting strategic priorities. Unlike strict rotation, weighted distribution introduces natural variety while keeping your content mix aligned with editorial goals.

The feature works seamlessly with existing Amplify Recommender capabilities, including ranking profiles, repost controls, and scheduling options.
